Canadian Forces Light Armoured Vehicles sit idle for the night as the sun sets on Patrol Base Sperwan Ghar.
The unveiling of a plaque by Task Force Kandahar Engineers marked the official opening of the Daman District Centre in Kandahar Province. TFK has contributed nearly one million dollars to the rebuilding effort at the Daman District Centre. Projects included: Jirga Hall, Governorâs residence, ANP Barracks and ablutions and a force protection building.
Operation ATHENA is Canadaâs participation in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. The mission of Task Force Kandahar, the Canadian-led brigade in ISAF Regional Command (South), is to set the right conditions for sustainable progress in security, governance, development and peace in the districts of Panjwa’i, Dand and Daman in Kandahar Province, in conjunction with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Afghan national security forces, and other coalition and civilian partners.
